Periodically we will select a quality and give you more information
about it.
CHATSWORTH is a fine, 100% cotton lawn fabric. It
is light weight and is printed rather than woven.
Chatsworth was introduced into the collection 18
months ago and has grown in popularity over that
period. Initially bought for accent trimming, it has now
been "accepted" as a fabric for the whole shirt! Watch
out for new designs this Spring.

The shirtings used were
mainly from the
Grasmere, 2/160’s range
however several qualities
of black and pink were
also used throughout the
show.

The creator, designer
Alexander Amosu said: “ I
firmly believe that in the
wake of the recession,
there is still a demand for
uncompromising quality.”

“ We might not be
catering to everyone, but
people who buy
Alexander Amosu want to
wear the very best suits in
the world “ he said.

The £70k price tag
includes the suit, shirt,
shoes and a 1hour flight
by private jet, anywhere
in the world.
It took more than 80 man
hours to make the
one-off suit from Artic
wool, qiviuk, and rare
South American wool,
vicuna.
Gold and Platinum thread
was also used in the
5000 stitches which held
it all together – that's
equivalent to £14
a stitch.
The suit was produced
in collaboration with
Dormeuil, who were
involved in every
aspect of the suit
including sourcing the
raw materials. Due to
the rare materials used,
sourced from animals
maintained in their
natural environments,
only enough wool will
be gathered to make
300 suits worldwide.
The suit, which has 18-carat gold and pave set
diamond buttons, was unveiled last week at a central
London party where it was delivered to its secret
buyer. Acorn have been involved with supplying all the
shirtings used at the party and the launch show, and
James and John Chatburn were there to watch the
launch.
The suit is spearheading the launch of Amosu’s own
brand of clothing , “I’m trying to build a luxury brand
that people know about. To compete with the likes of
Gucci you have to produce not just the ‘world’s most
expensive suit’ but something so exclusive that you
are the only one who makes it,” Amosu said.

The designer does not exaggerate; the price includes
hyperbolic levels of customer service: Alexander and
his tailors will travel to clients anywhere in the world to
take measurements and fit the suits.

Qiviuk, the world’s most expensive wool, comes from
the Artic muskox which sheds its fleece only once a
year; and Vicuna is the fleece of the wild South
American Camelid, which only produces enough wool
for shearing every three years. The qiviuk and vicuna
wools were blended with Himalayan pashmina to
create a cloth known as Vanquish II.

The “most expensive suit in the world” has
been sold to a mystery buyer for
£70,000.
